Town of Newark Valley

The Town of Newark Valley consists of 50.33 square miles and is located on the east side of the County. The Town is bordered by Broome County to the east, the Town of Owego to the south, the Town of Candor's hamlet of Weltonville to the west, and the Town of Berkshire to the north. The 2000 Census states that the population was 4,097. The main tourist attraction in the Town is the Bement Billings Farmstead, which hosts the Apple Festival in the Fall in an original 1800's farmhouse setting. The Newark Valley Central School offers high quality education to the children of Newark Valley, Berkshire, and Richford. The Town is primarily rural with some portions of the Town providing a suburban setting for residents who commute to their jobs in the area.
