The Village of Nichols consists of .51 square miles within the Town and has a population of 574 according to the 2000 Census. The main intersection in the Village is the County road known as River Road and NYS Route 282, which lead to Pennsylvania. The Cady Library located on River Road is a significant architectural treasure that has been transformed from a turn-of-the-century residential mansion to a first-class library facility. Village-owned Kirby Park offers residents a community park for all types of recreational activities and has recently been the host for the Annual Tioga County Antique Tractor Show. Some of the best food in Tioga County can be found at the Barstow House and the former train station was recently renovated into a pub and restaurant.
