Town of Nichols

The Town of Nichols consists of 33.7 square miles and is located between the Susquehanna River to the north and west, the Town of Owego to the east, and Bradford County, Pennsylvania to the south. According to the 2000 Census the population is 2,584 people. Agriculture and gravel mining are the other major industries in the Town. The Tioga Country Club is a public golf course that offers spectacular views of the Susquehanna River Valley. The newly constructed Tioga Downs (formerly known as Tioga Park along I-86) opened June 2006 and offers quality harness racing, video lottery terminals, a restaurant and entertainment venue drawing tremendous crowds of visitors from throughout the Twin Tiers of New York, Pennsylvania and the Finger Lakes Region.
